The leader team, as already mentioned, vet the programme and have an overall responsibility for safety during any Stannington Explorers event. Our leaders are extremely experienced in leading the types of activities we offer.

Naturally, there is an element of risk with any activity and, in Scouting, we tend to be more adventurous with the activities we engage in. However, please rest assured that all necessary training, permits, qualifications and paperwork are taken into consideration before and during any event we lead.

You will need to complete an annual personal details form before your son or daughter will be permitted to attend any events so that we have all the information we may need in the unlikely event of an accident.

Leaders almost always carry an additional mobile phone when on Explorer events, the number of which is in the fact sheet. It is not usually switched on when we are not at Explorers, but you can send a text which we will pick up next time it is.
